real encouragement for real homeschooling moms

november 16 podcast

podcast logo This week we are, once again, listening to a presentation from the 5th annual Treasures of a Mother’s Heart Day of Encouragement retreat that was held in Peoria, Illinois on November 3rd. Today’s testimony is shared by my sweet friend Marla Laugherty.

Marla, as you will be able to tell once she begins speaking, is originally from Texas and has a B.S. in nursing from Dallas Baptist College. She is married to her college sweetheart, Pastor Fred Laugherty, who is the worship pastor at Bethany Baptist Church in Peoria. They have four lovely daughters, Julie, Janna, Madison, and Molly, and the younger two are still being homeschooled. Her interests include finding healthy recipes that taste great, reading, and recreational bike riding. I know you will be blessed as Marla shares with the other moms what the Lord has been teaching her over the past two years.

Very encouraging for me. . . While I couldn’t attend the Treasures of a Mom’s Heart day, I’ve been very blessed by the -real- and -godly- women who have shared from their hearts. What has helped me most has been seeing them point to Christ–not just give another set of “great ideas” or lists of oughts and shoulds.

TG, wasn’t Marla’s story compelling? I have watched her gracefully and graciously move through this time of her life and have seen how mighty God has worked in and through her life.

And you are correct, God is so good and prepares a way for us!
