Very good wrap up guys. Boy, this subject is so deep and intense. It is amazing. Team up with Corrie and her Pharisee study and contrast the techniques with their words and behaviors! That would be an eye opener….

So a lot of Southern Baptists want to start a big push towards extreme complementarianism or whatever it’s called? I went to a Southern Baptist church for some time, with lots of VF fans, and now I see why a lot of stuff in it felt really new, really different from an ordinary Baptist church.

It seems to me often when people do a push like this, they use tactics of suggesting that you aren’t quite Biblical until unless you make your views as extreme as they want you to. Kind of the vibe of “Don’t sell out to the stupid worldliness around you! Get on board with us! See the Scriptures for what they really are!” I think this is related to the Demand For Purity thing Cindy has mentioned.

Well, great thoughts as usual. 🙂

While I’m hogging your blog…

Excellent compliments to this series:

– Kevin Johnson’s sermons on Spiritual Abuse near the top of the Rt hand sidebar (mentioned under Going For One More Podcast) at (add www.)

Each was about an hour long, and there are three at present.

– Recently posted videos on YouTube of the old Geraldo talk show on Evangelical Christian churches who practice spiritual abuse/thought reform. Great compliment to this podcast series. (add the www.)

– Contrasting patriocentrism with orthodox Judaism per Rabbi Maurice Lamm (last post refutes Eph 5 as men spiritually sanctifying wives; also women can work, women of age do not need a male intercessor or guardian, women have all the rights to sex in marriage, etc.) ~ Add the www. ~
